Cowboy Dreams

One thing on our travel bucket list was a stay on a ranch. Now we are happy to announce that we can tick it off the list!

Our ranch was (www.redwillowranch.com) was in the Eastern part of BC, which looks like pretty much like a big version of the Swiss Plateau. Since space is not an issue the ranches are huge. Our ranch has about 30 horses, several dogs, pigs, and chickens. The hosts are Germans and most of the employees are German and Swiss girls working for room and board. Although ranch stays do not come cheap it was totally worth the money. We could go on two trail rides (my butt stopped hurting after two days) on super nice horses. They are so nice and friendly that on the second day we could even canter (for about 30 seconds but it felt great). On top of the rides we got the best food we had since arriving in Canada (good part of having German hosts). So what about a farm stay in Argentina…?
